are You in my days

are You in my days? in my nights? after the words don’t come out right?

are You in the morning? in the rain? in the sun light peeking through the pane?

are You in the thought that just swept me over? the overwhelm? the overwhelming pain?

are You in that moment I dread today? the moment that is still sinking in? the one threatening to take me down deep within?

are You in that thought I had last week? the mess I keep making? this very minute? now?

are You living in today? filling up the how?

Because I wonder when I can’t see.

this day. these days. they combine and confound and confuse. want to take me in. over. with them. way down.

all the voices that shout loud. how I must hear and see and understand.

I can’t.

though You can. You do. You stand.

Still.

are You in these days. it’s just so hard to tell.

history can blind truth. stories reveal only what one heart may see.

Your Story says You’re always here.

His Story is where I want to be.

because His Story is history.

and in this day, when I’m uncertain where You are, can I only know You are certainly where I need You to be?

working out Your Story. filling up the lack. finding every lost soul. covering over every part cracked.

because our days long to be set right. all the groaning. the fear. the evil. the tears.

and because these days reveal the pits we have dug. the sins we have buried. the wounds we inflicted. the ones we still carry.

so… are You here? in these days? because we need You to be. we need Your truth and Your grace. Your goodness. Your mercy.

we need Your very Face.

we need to be set right, right under all the You have purchased. right under Your love. Your light. Your right now.

this moment. this day.

see our own stories through Your own eyes. through Your very own story.

throughout all of History.

because there is where You say these very days are numbered. our days. my days. in every way and always.

You count hairs. You number stars. You hold this world. You say You simply Are.

so You must be in my days. these days. our days.

You must be in All.

so today and always, I will rest in all You Are.

  1. So good, Kacy! Not the story I ever thought we’d be in a year ago, but knowing we’re all in His story calms our hearts and gives us His peace that passes understanding!

  2. Generally, I don’t have/make time to read things other than my school materials, but I saw this and it grabbed me. Read the whole thing. And I loved it!
Some of it was like reading my very own thoughts. Especially these parts:
    “Because I wonder when I can’t see.
this day. these days. they combine and confound and confuse. want to take me in. over. with them. way down.
all the voices that shout loud. how I must hear and see and understand.
    I can’t.
though You can. You do. You stand.”
    and
    “we need Your very Face.
we need to be set right, right under all the You have purchased. right under Your love. Your light. Your right now.
    this moment. this day.”
Thank you for once again, being an instrument for God’s usage.
    Love ya!
